Philly Improv Theater’s We The People Improv Festival is the flagship improv festival for the City of Philadelphia. The fest is dedicated to showcasing the diversity of improv talent from across the nation and around the globe, while also highlighting the diversity and talent of our beautiful city to our guest artists and all those in attendance. Since We The People was created in 2017 we are proud to have showcased hundreds of performers, helped them network with others around the country, and shared their talent with thousands of audience members. We The People and PHIT have brought performers to the city with a diverse array of credits, including writers and performers from shows and podcasts like Astronomy Club, Bajillion Dollar Propertie$, BoJack Horseman, Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Daily Show, Divorce, The Good Place, The Opposition with Jordan Klepper, Spontaneanation, SuperEgo, Yo, Is This Racist?, and You’re The Worst.
The 2020 We The People Improv Festival takes place July 15-18th at Philly Improv Theater. Our producing team and Philly’s improv scene are excited to come together under one roof for a weekend celebrating excellence in improvisational comedy, and the camaraderie of the worldwide improv community. We The People has your back and we can’t wait to laugh with you!
ABOUT OUR NAME
PHIT chose the opening words of the United States Constitution as the name of our improv festival because they evoke our hometown, Philadelphia, the site of its writing, and because we seek to produce a festival representative of our interpretation of this famous phrase: one which includes all people – regardless of race, creed, or identity.
